Beer Dip

Everyone else seems to be throwing out their own recipes this week in preparation for Super Bowl Sunday so I guess I will follow suit with a simple classic of mine from college: Beer Dip

Ingredients*:

1 block of cream cheese
1 packet of ranch seasoning
1 cup (or so) of shredded cheese
1 beer (any kind but dark beers don’t generally come out well. Looking at you Guinness!)
*Note that these are estimates. Feel free to increase/reduce

Directions:

1) Pour shredded cheese and ranch seasoning into bowl with cream cheese.

2) Pour some beer in the bowl. Amount isn’t crucial so pretend you are pouring “one for your homies”. What is that, 1 cup? Let’s say 1 cup.

3). Stir the shit out of that bowl taking occasional breaks to finish drinking the remaining beer. By the time you finish your beer, the dip should be plenty stirred.

4) Serve with some pretzels or hearty toasted bread or pitas. Chips aren’t really going to make it through the dip unscathed so save those for the queso and 7-layer dip.
